Everton vs Brighton - Highlights

Everton began a new era with a memorable 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion marking the first-ever competitive match at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Blues celebrated the opening of their new home – coincidentally exactly 133 years to the day since Goodison Park's official opening – with goals in either half from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner.

Full debutant Jack Grealish provided assists for both, first a delightful centre for Ndiaye to prod home the opener, before a perfectly-weighted lay-off for Garner soon after the half-time interval.

Jordan Pickford then denied Danny Welbeck from the penalty spot with a superb save to ensure the Toffees' grand opening of their new waterfront stadium was a winning one – complete with a clean sheet.
